We started our dance school, Parallel Dance, in 2012. It’s a family run dance school in North Norfolk that provides a nurturing environment for students who may have not had the same opportunity to enjoy dance as those from more urban locations. When we held our first showcase the business was still very new and we were feeling our way through most decisions. I was even attempting to do the books by using all the knowledge of my B grade GCSE. So when we cold-called a few photography companies we were shocked at just how little we’d get for our money, but we were determined to get a professional photographer so that the parents could take away the precious memories. Turns out we hit the jackpot when we finally found and met Life Photography, another family business led by Tim and his wife Deb and daughter Bex.
Not only did they come to our event all the way from Kent, which was probably a risk to them too, they brought backdrops and props that reflected our theme and the whole kit so that parents could take their framed photographs right there and then. They were unobtrusive, friendly and professional throughout – even with the streams of children we sent their way for individual and group shots prior to the performance – and then to take the action shots during it in each performance! The photos always look great and the queues of people during and after each performance prove as much. Cash payments, card payments, multi-buy deals and an online store after the show – what more can you ask for. No matter the venue (and we’ve had a few), the changing lighting or any other obstacle, the results have always been excellent. Andy always looks forward to ‘updating’ his desk photo with the latest themed family photo!
What makes them such a great company is that they care so much about what they do, the people they shoot and their trade. They are literally the nicest people you would ever meet and I would have no reservations recommending them for any occasion where capturing memories is important.
