We’re already big fans of Bill’s in Norwich. As a family restaurant Bill’s kids meals are excellent and great value for money, so when I was invited to sample their new pancake menu (and a few cheeky cocktails) I jumped at the chance!
Bill’s Norwich
Bill’s Restaurant is near the entrance to the Castle Mall in Norwich. From the outside it looks cool and quirky, and once inside the restaurant opens up to be much larger than expected and covers two floors. There’s beautiful bold colours and decadent decor, chesterfield style sofas and warmly lit chandeliers await you.
We were welcomed into the private dining area upstairs by the wonderful Charles who is oh so friendly and charming. We started by sampling some fantastic cocktails which we’re beautifully presented and at just £4 if your dining after 5pm it would be rude not to!
Pancake Date
Now to the main event. I must admit I’ve always seen pancakes as a sweet treat but I’m always willing to try new things and I’m so glad I did. The Poached Eggs, Feta and Avocado pancake I chose was cooked to perfection. With a runny egg and just enough chilli to give it a kick. It tasted fresh and healthy, if you know what I mean. I love a beige buffet but there’s something intrinsically rewarding about eating healthy colourful food, which meant I didn’t feel so guilty when my Caramelised Banana and Salted Caramel Ice Cream pancake came out for dessert. It was a touch choice as there was also a Coconut Ice Cream and Mango Sauce, a Frozen Berries and White Chocolate or the classic Lemon and Sugar.
Pancake Menu
The pancake menu is available all day everyday from the 28th February to the 10th March. Great for a date night or family treat. There’s a pancake to suit everyone and options for vegans, vegetarians and those with allergies. For more information or to book please visit bills-website.co.uk.
