Where is Peter Rabbit? Theatre Royal Haymarket

Where is Peter Rabbit? Well he’s in London at the extravagant Theatre Royal Haymarket. I’ve never seen so much gold adorning the walls. The theatre has a lavish grandeur but at the same time feels small and cosy.

We’re off to see the rabbit…

We traveled from Norfolk to introduce London’s wonderful West End to the kids with a magical experience at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Where is Peter Rabbit? is the latest production for children and lasts about an hour. It’s just the right amount of time so little bunny’s don’t get tired. And long enough for them to enjoy some first-class singing, dancing and story-telling.

The classic Beatrix Potter tales are retold with life-like puppets and clever scenery that seamlessly appears and disappear as the story unfolds.

Toad was our favourite character and pulled out all the stops as he danced across the stage before being saved by his Parker coat. Wilba was only interested in seeing Peter, which everybody sitting within ear-shot soon realised, as throughout the performance was heard shouting “Where’s Peter Rabbit”. The audience was full of exited children enjoying the performance so thankfully I wasn’t made to feel embarrassed or fearful of the ‘shusher’.

To much delight Wilba got her wish and finally saw Peter at the end. My only quibble is that it could have been for longer! Jemima got most of the air time, although very much deserved. She was pretty fab and at times I totally forgot about the puppeteer.
