Morning Crumblers,
You know I love a festival and we have traveled around the UK this year to attend some of the very best, I thought my festival season was over when I heard that there was a weekend festival right on my doorstep and not just that, it was celebrating all the amazing talent that my wonderful Norfolk has to offer. Tribe Norfolk Weekend which comes to Happy Valley (a Norfolk wildlife trust site) next week on the 22nd and 23rd of September was Created in 2016 as an online community of local businesses, creatives and individuals. Tribe Norfolk was set up as a way to connect people from across Norfolk.
Inspired by the county and its abundance of talent, Tribe Norfolk Weekend will be a showcase of local producers, makers, artists, foodies, businesses, musicians, wellness practitoners, makers and more!
It looks amazing and the founder has really thought about everything she’s even organised marquees in case of the unpredictable English weather and the family tickets accommodate every type of family not just the 2:4 “norm”. For example 1 adult and 2 children ( over 5s ) on the Sunday are just £30 ! For a whole days entertainment, that’s incredible !
Tribe Norfolk founder, Katy Coe said “I wanted to create an event that celebrated and championed an array of independent businesses from across Norfolk. The magical woodland backdrop of Happy Valley & Glamping accommodation it offers provide a unique opportunity to broaden the weekend in a family friendly festival for all who love Norfolk. Just like I do”.
We have a variety of activities planned for both and children to try including reggae yoga sessions, pottery, hula hooping, mindful meditations, cultural embroidery, henna and eco glitter bar, led star-gazing sessions with the west Norfolk astronomical society and loads more.
In addition, we have walks and talks, relaxation classes for both adults and children, art classes, dancing, storytelling from BeWILDerwood, live music from great bands including Norfolk’s own, Jake Morrell, Sam Coe and the Long Shadows, Conny and Milsky, East Angles Brass, Vincent Knight, Helen Buebell, Jessies Ghost, Sam Cook and the Two Bit Operaters.
We also have a wellness area which includes the opportunity for Pilates, adult and childrens Yoga and mindful meditations along with massage within a beautiful woodland setting – what could be more relaxing!?” If you prefer something a little more upbeat there will be FREE 90s Hip Hop Yoga & Lazy Sunday Reggae yoga sessions for the whole family to get involved in.
Over the weekend there will be a host of local traders including jewellers, clothing, food, vintage, and homeware.
Norfolk based caterers over the weekend feature, Squilla and Squidge, The Food Dude, Pie Central, Proper Pizza Co and The Travelling Bluebird. There will also be an onsite bar serving regional beers/wines/cocktails and soft drinks, with the emphasis very much on our county’s produce.
Abbie Panks of Creative Orchard Events said “We are thrilled to be working with Katy on the first Tribe Norfolk Weekend, hailing from Norfolk myself I know how much we have to celebrate and showcase in our own county.
Happy Valley is a beautiful setting for the event, nestled in 9 acres of woodland and open space, teaming with wildlife– what better way to stretch the summer a little longer!
