Pumpkin Fun
Half term is just around the corner and one of our more recent family traditions is to visit a pumpkin patch. Ive had a scout for the Best Norfolk Pumpkin Patches and I’ve whittled it down to five. Well six, technically Undley Pumpkin Patch is in Suffolk but its worth the journey as its basically a whole day out. Here’s my run down of the best, let me know if there’s any corkers near you I haven’t featured in the comments!
The Pumpkin House
Located at Brookhill Farm, Fakenham Road, Thursford, NR21 0BD. The Pumpkin House is open from 10am -4pm. Decorated with over 1,000 pumpkins and handmade out of wood. With a huge selection of pumpkins to choose from autumnal wreaths and even brooms to purchase this is one pop up event not to miss. Parking is in a field so bring wellies and its cash only.
Algy’s Farm Shop
On Billingford Road, Bintree, NR20 5PW. Very near me and has Pumpkins available now, Don’t expect any bells and whistles at this one is very traditional which i love. Peckish? You can you can treat yourself to a wood fired pizza for just 7.50 from 11am to 3pm. Visit the website for more details.
Hill Farm
On Norwich Road, Horstead, NR12 7BA. 8.30am to 4pm, Saturday 8.30am to 12.30pm. The farm shop is usually closed on Sundays but they are open this Sunday 10.00 to 15.00 for a special event with Steven Sparkes who will be doing photo shoots for the pumpkin pickers.
The Tacons
The Grange, Rollesby, Great Yarmouth, NR29 5AJ opens weekends in October 10am to 4pm, then daily half-term onwards. Visit the Farm Shop and pick up some gorgeous goods such as Free range eggs, Norfolk Farmhouse ice cream, Norton’s cheese, local honey and homegrown fruit and vegetables.
White House Farm
Access now from Wroxham Road, Park&Ride Roundabout, just near Tesco, Sprowston. The Farm which is the closest to Norwich Started life as a PYO, now a farmshop, cafe, butchery, and most recently shopping destination. This Muddy stilettos winner also boasts a lovely wooden arch laden with pumpkins for a great snap or two.
Undley Pumpkin Patch and Maze
Undley Road, Beck Row, IP288BX. So technically more Suffolk than Norfolk but worth a mention as this really is a whole day out…. be prepared to part with some cash though its not cheap. The maize maze is Celebrating its 20th year in 2019. Undley Farm’s well established pumpkin patch and maize maze event will once again run throughout October (on weekends and at half term) there’s inflatables, magic shows refreshments and more….
